information department

The core of the Information Department is the Regional Information Centre of the Usti Region (RIC UK) which was established in the Regional Development Agency of the Usti Region PLC (RRA UK) in 1995. It is based on a geographical information system (GIS) which enables to present data and information about the Usti Region on maps, tables and graphs in an attractive way.

Its main mission is to provide information service to organisations both from the public and private sectors. The integrated part of the RIC UK is the Regional Information System of the Usti Region (RIS) which is a standard national system developed by the Centre of Regional Development of the Czech Republic.

The strategic objective of the Information Department is:
  • Provide information support to decision-making processes in the Usti Region
The specific objectives are:
  • Operate an uniform, expandable and open system
  • Application of data, map-formats and graphics from various information sources
  • Provide professional update from one site

The ISO 9001:2000 certificate confirms that the services of the Information Department are provided in accordance with the system of quality meeting the standard CSN EN ISO 9001:2001.

  • Thematic oriented databases and overviews
  • Analyses and impact assessments of projects concerning the touched area
  • Analyses and evaluations of economic subjects according to client's requirements – e.g.
    • foreign and joint capital

    • size of subjects according to number of employees (categories)
    • categorisation of economic activities in accordance with the Czech Business Classification Register - OKEC
